Focus areas

The project must fall within one of Leader Mellansjölandet's four focus areas.

The Leader method

The Leader method should be applied, which means collaboration between the different sectors: non-profit, private, and public. It is best if all parties are involved, but it may also suffice with “a ”letter of intent” where the parties that may not be as active in the implementation of a project still express a positive opinion about the project idea.

Grassroots perspective

It is important to have local anchoring for the project idea, which shows that there is a broad interest in the project.

Innovative thinking

The project must include innovative thinking in the sense that one cannot apply for funding for the organization's existing activities.

Implementation capacity

Are there the necessary resources to carry out the project, and what happens to the project when the project period has expired? Continuation?

Co-financing

There is no requirement for co-financing in money, but the own contribution can be made in the form of voluntary work.

Inclusion

It is an absolute requirement that no one is prevented from participating in the implementation and benefiting from the project's results due to gender, ethnic affiliation, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
