Focus areas
LEADER Mellansjölandet has four intervention areas 2023-2027. It is within these that you can apply for project support.
Focus area 1. Entrepreneurship and business development
The focus area enables projects where various actors and entrepreneurs collaborate to grow and create employment in the community and become stronger and more competitive. This occurs through initiatives that promote the development of new and existing businesses, new products/services, or skills development. The projects include general promotion and collaboration, not business support.
Focus area 2. Develop the tourism industry
The focus area is about jointly making visible, packaging, and marketing the great opportunities for experiences for tourists that exist around Mellansjölandet. Initiatives to create and market activities that involve diversification and season extension for actors in the tourism industry are also included in the focus area. The projects are generally promotional, not business support.
Focus area 3. Attractive living environment
The focus area is about initiatives to facilitate living and working in a community. A well-functioning association life makes an area vibrant and promotes rural development. Initiatives that offer residents an active leisure time make the area attractive and also serve as meeting places for different target groups, which increases community and social cohesion in the area. The focus area can also include projects that strengthen residents' identity, pride, and sense of belonging to their community or provide. Activities for increased sustainability and for youth are important initiatives.
Focus area 4. Skills development and inclusion
The area includes efforts to strengthen residents who are far from the labor market. The projects focus on capacity development to empower individuals who are at risk of segregation and should be designed based on the individual's needs and circumstances. Education, network building, and stimulating the emergence of social enterprises are examples of efforts.
This is how you apply for project support
Application for support for LEADER projects (not Small projects) is made on the Swedish Board of Agriculture's website. It is always good to talk to us at the LEADER office before you apply. The one applying for support must first submit a power of attorney to the Swedish Board of Agriculture to obtain the right to apply on behalf of the organization. This should be done well in advance of applying.
Here you can find the application form:
- Go to www.jordbruksverket.se
- Select ”My pages”
- Log in to My pages with e-identification, Mobile Bank-ID, etc.
- Now you can choose to apply on behalf of the organization that has given you the power of attorney to apply for support.
- Select ”E-services within My pages”
- Select ”Project support, investment support, and business support”
- Select ”Start the service” and New application for support.
- Now you can start filling in, and only partway in will you come to the choice of support form where you select ”Locally led development through LEADER.” When asked which program period you are applying for, select 2023-2027.
The application can be prepared before logging in by writing texts for these headings in a regular document:
- Who is the target group for the project?
- What is the purpose of the project?
- What is the background of the project?
- What experience and competence are present in the project?
- Who else is the project collaborating with?
- How will you implement the project and what activities will be included? (There is a template for the activity plan)
- Is the project innovative and if so, how?
- What goals should you have achieved by the end of the project?
- What long-term goals should you reach?
- Who else might be interested in the project and its results besides yourselves?
- How will you inform about what you have accomplished in the project?
- What will the operations look like after the project ends?
- How does the project differ from your regular operations?
