Marking of exercise trails
Svartå IF has received requests from residents and members to mark out two exercise trails with signs and thereby make them more accessible to the public.
Project description
The two trails that are relevant are an MTB (Mountain bike) loop and the just over 14 km long running track that is used for Svartåloppet, among other things.
The unofficial MTB loop of just over 20 km that currently exists on forest paths and gravel roads will be marked with about 20 signs that will be placed on posts along the loop.
The running track will be marked in a similar way but also with kilometer signs, a total of 26 signs.
The posts will be painted at the top for protection against weather and wind. A total of 46 signs are estimated to be needed for both trails.
Why marking of trails
MTB is becoming more and more popular and since there is local interest in cycling, it is timely to have suitable trails that are safe and accessible to use. Marking the running track and the MTB loop would encourage more people to venture out into the forest and exercise as it becomes significantly easier to navigate the paths. Since we have received approval from the landowner Sveaskog, we are seeking help with funding for signs + posts from Leader Mellansjölandet.
Goals of the project
The goal is for even more people to exercise and use the area around Svartå together with the existing facility Hyttvallen.
As previously described, many are cautious about venturing into the forest, but with signs, the trails become more accessible and more people will use them.
The goal is also to strengthen the town's attractiveness for residents and visitors with increased opportunities for activities.
Implementation of the project and partners
Svartå IF is the main entity for the project and the work is carried out by members of the association. Sveaskog, the landowner, can be mentioned as a partner.
