Project for youth in rural areas

The goal is to build a swing set.

We are a cottage association in Hultsjön, Hallsberg municipality, consisting of about 50 small houses where most are summer residences but six households are also permanent residents and an additional handful plan to join permanent residency shortly.

Most of those living here often have guests in the form of children and grandchildren. The opportunity for play, besides swimming, is very limited. The swing set we had available had to be taken down due to safety risks. Funds to replace it with a new one are only available in a limited amount. However, there are many willing workers who are happy to contribute with what they can in construction. What we intend to do is to purchase a new swing set with three swings for different ages. It should be EU-approved with a base that also has approved fall protection material. Thus, we hope for the opportunity for a fun recreational activity that promotes children's movement and the chance to get to know other children for future exchange.
