Stone play

Örebro and Kumla municipality together with ÖBO are driving a project where children, under the guidance of artists, get to develop their own play areas. One of the areas that will receive a new nature play is at a new residential area in Hällabrottet. During the autumn of 2021 and spring of 2022, grade 1 and 4 at Tallängen school in Hällabrottet have collaborated with the artist Jelena Rundqvist. In workshops, the children have built models in surface concrete at a scale of 1:1 directly in the environment and developed their ideas for how the play environment should be designed. The children have, among other things, created mazes, balance courses, stables, a football field, a barbecue area with paths, and a grass area has been established. However, not all of the children's ideas fit within the budget, so we are applying for funds from Leader to realize the children's idea of a jumping place in stone.
