History Trail

Stora Mellösa is a locality in Östernärke in Örebro Municipality. The surrounding area has a rich history that stretches back over a thousand years. The region is characterized by having been used for several thousand years, with several early archaeological remains as evidence. The Mällösa region has been an important place for the spread of Christianity; as early as the 1100s, there was a church here. Engelbrekt met his fate here, just beyond Göksholm Castle, which is the country's longest inhabited castle. Despite the rich history, it can be difficult to easily learn about the history of Stora Mellösa, especially for children. Therefore, the Stora Mellösa Road Association, together with the Stora Mellösa Cooperation Association and active members of the Stora Mellösa Local History Association, wants to create an interactive history trail aimed at children.
